After defeating the defending champion Dallas Mavericks on Tuesdays, February 28, 2012, New Jersey Nets fans like myself were hoping the team could start to make a run for the playoffs. Last night, Friday, March 2, 2012, any hopes of making a playoff run basically went out the window wholesale Oklahoma City Thunder jerseys as the Nets lost to the Boston Celtics, 107-94, in Boston. Nets Follow Up Big Win Over Dallas with Bad Loss to Boston Celtics Not only did we lose the game, we were barely in the game. We trailed by nine after the first quarter, 29-20, and by 18 at the half, 58-40. We never really got back into the game, though we did outscore the Celtics, 54-49, in the second half, to only lose by 13. This was a game though that anybody watching knew the Nets were never going to win after the first quarter. The Nets have had way too many games like this all season. As a Nets fan, it frustrating to watch the team go out and beat the 21-16 Dallas Mavericks one night, and then a lay an egg against the Boston Celtics like we did last night. And the Celtics were playing without Ray Allen, who was sick last night. Deron Williams Scored 10 Points in First Quarter and Ended Up with 12 for the Game Deron Williams scored 10 points in the first quarter for the Nets, and ended the game with 12 points. Brook Lopez followed up his 38 point game against Dallas, with 28 points last night vs the Celtics. Rookie MarShon Brooks made four of five shots from the field and scored 11 points, but had five turnovers. DeShawn Stevenson is a good defensive player, but his offensive game is lacking to say the least. Last night he only made one of six shots from the field, and scored just three points. The Celtics were led by Paul Pierce, who had a great game. Pierce made 10 of 14 shots from the field, including three of four threes, and scored 27 points . Boston Celtics Shot 51.7% from the Field in the Game When Paul Pierce is hot like that the Celtics are tough to beat. Kevin Garnett added 20 points, and made 10 of 13 shots from the field, and also had 10 rebounds for his 11th double-double on the season. Rajon Rondo followed up his third triple double on the season in the Celtics previous game vs the Milwaukee Bucks, with a double-double of 14 points and 13 assists. Despite missing 11 games this season, Rajon Rondo now has eight double-doubles on the season, and three triple-doubles. There were rumors yesterday that the Celtics were trying to trade Rajon Rondo. This Nets fan would love to see wholesale Boston Celtics jersey them trade Rondo so we wouldn have to face him so many times.
